Yuma shooting suspect charged with two counts of murder

Abraham Colin, 19, was formally charged on Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault for his alleged role in a deadly house party shooting in May.
Colin is accused of killing Ande Blackthunder, 20, and Danny Garcia, 19, and injuring four minors by shooting them at a house party on May 29. He was arrested on June 6 after a tip from an anonymous caller led police to his location.
Colin hired his own attorney from Phoenix who represented him over the phone during his arraignment. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was ordered to be held in custody with no bond.
Judge Stewart scheduled Colin's preliminary hearing for June 27, where he will face the possibility of life in prison without parole if convicted.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear, but police said they believe Colin was not invited to the party and had a dispute with some of the guests. They also said they recovered a handgun that matched the shell casings found at the scene.
Colin is one of two suspects in the case. The other suspect, whose name has not been released, is still at large and considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking anyone with information to call 911 or Yuma Crime Stoppers at (928) 782-7463.
The shooting was one of the deadliest in Yuma's history and shocked the community. A vigil was held on June 1 to honor the victims and support their families.
